I am a Counselling Psychologist in private practice in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.
I completed my studies at the University of the Witwatersrand. My qualifications are a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and SASL: South African Sign Language) [BA], Bachelor of Arts - Honours in Psychology [BA Hons], BPsyc Equivalent (Psychometrist), and Masters in Community-Based Counselling Psychology [MACC]. I specialized in psychotherapy, psychological assessment and community psychology with individuals of different ages and walks of life.
I completed my internship at Epworth Children's Village Therapy and Assessment Centre. This included working with children, adolescents, parents and adults on a variety of challenges and concerns; and within the social welfare context. I have also worked at The Centre for Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) as part of a community action group, the local hospitals, Childline and at the Teddy Bear Clinic during my training. My research was in the areas of transracial adoption, family and race relations in South Africa. Since this training I have branched into various fields of interest across psychology and gained experience across settings.
I have worked in the field of psychology for over 10 years. I have passion for people and being a part of interventions which move them towards positive outcomes.
I started in South Africa in private practice, hospitals, schools and communities. I was involved in individual and group therapy, assessment, psychotherapy and training. I now work in Australia meeting the needs of the regional community I live in and across the state and wider Australia via telehealth.
I work within mood disorders, anxiety disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, academic and cognitive assessment, ADHD assessment and intervention, Autism assessment and intervention, and eating disorders where I am a credentialed eating disorder clinician with ANZAED.
I practice as a counselling psychologist doing therapy, assessment and community work. I am able to work with a range of clients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents and adults within therapy and assessment. I offer both short term and long term intervention.
