Cash Payments & Medical Aid Submissions
As a registered Counselling Psychologist, I am registered with the Heath Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). This allows me to have a practice number which can be used to submit claims to medical aids. I am registered with a number of medical aid schemes and can claim directly on your behalf.
Most medical aids will cover either a portion of the session, or the total cost for the session depending on your benefits. It is advisable to contact your medical aid beforehand in order to determine the psychological services benefit structure in your plan. In addition, you are encouraged to keep track of available funds. Once funds have been depleted, therapy and assessment will be for your own account.
Sessions can be paid cash or claimed from medical aid. Clients who prefer to pay cash for the therapy and assessment will need to settle the invoice on a session by session basis.
